Smithson DNA Study

Christopher T. Smithson has been working for some time to share information about a specific DNA Study being conducted for the Smithson family line. To review the limited results of the tests submitted thus far, you can review the updated information on the Smithson DNA Study on the web address - http://www.worldfamilies.net/surnames/smithson/results
As a Smithson descendant, if you are interested in becoming part of this DNA Study please contact Christopher at the address, telephone number, or email address listed below.
The greater the number of participants that applies adds to the growing scientific data that is unique to our specific family line. At the current moment there have been seven Smithson's volunteers. As with all scientific studies, the more data available, the more detailed the outcomes of the reports. We really do need a lot more participants and would be excited if you could help.
If you have a son, brother, uncle, father, grandfather or cousin who is a direct male Smithson descendant and you think that they will be interested in joining the study please let Christopher know.
The Smithson Family Association has offered to pay 1/2 of the costs of a test or for those who have already submitted their test, the additional 1/2 of the costs towards an upgrade to a higher marker test result.

The tests are being processed through FTDNA : http://www.familytreedna.com/
There are different levels to the DNA Test. There are 12, 24 and 36 markers test result categories. The basic 12 marker test is approximately $99 + postage.
One of the main reasons that we are doing this study is to see which branches connect together where the rest of our research documentation ends.
The two required items to conduct the test is a direct male Smithson descendant and a copy of their Smithson lineage back as far as you have it documented.
